Unforgettable Experiences Await

During the retreat, we will learn a lot about Sámi culture. The Sámi are the only recognized indigenous people in the European Union area. In Finland one of their traditional living areas is located around Lake Inari. Inari has significant cultural centers, such as the Siida Sámi Museum, which showcases the history and culture of the Sámi people, and Sajos, which serves as the Sámi Parliament building and cultural center. Lake Inari itself is an important place with many sacred sites and traditional living environments for the Sámi.

Q & A

Lapland is an unforgettable fly fishing destination for several reasons:

  • Midnight sun. During summer, the midnight sun allows for 24-hour fishing, creating a magical experience.
  • Untouched nature and fresh air. The region is known as “the last wilderness of Europe,” with minimal human presence and unspoiled natural beauty. The air in Lapland is exceptionally clean and fresh. In fact, Lapland is known for having some of the purest air in the world.
  • Pristine, crystal-clear waters. In many places it is safe to drink water directly from the river – without boiling it. But check it with your guide first.
  • Other activities. Beyond fishing, you can enjoy hiking, visiting reindeer farms, and experiencing the samí-culture.
  • At the camps/retreats organized by Adena Trails, high-quality accommodation and delicious food are non-negotiable. A touch of luxury makes your stay unforgettable.

We have chosen the locations very carefully. The mission of Adena Trails is to combine fly fishing in a stunning environment with skilled guidance and high-quality facilities.

The primary location for the camps and retreats is Inari, a charming Sámi village. Here, you can enjoy fishing in pristine, fish-abundant waters, while Wilderness Hotel Juutua ensures exquisite dining and restful nights.

Fly fishing camps can also be arranged on the Teno River in Utsjoki, the northernmost municipality in the EU, situated on the border with Norway and close to the Arctic Ocean. Additionally, camps can be organized on other awesome rivers throughout Lapland.

Men are also welcome at camps tailored for individual groups.

The season is quite short. The main season lasts from the beginning of June to the end of August.

In Lapland, you can catch a variety of fish species, including: brown trout, grayling, arctic char, pike, whitefish, perch. Atlantic salmon is still possible to fish for example in River Tornio and River Muonio. The humpback salmon is an invasive species, and it is possible to fish for it in Teno River. All fishing activities must adhere to specific regulations and permit practices.

Fly fishing gear is available for loan during the camp. However, for the best experience, it is recommended to bring your own familiar fly fishing gear.

The price depends on the group size, the duration and location of the camp, and the additional services. The price range for a seven-day fly fishing camp in Inari is about €2900 – 5200 per person, depending on the group size and additional services. Flights or travel insurance are not included in the price.

Inari is easily accessible by flight from Helsinki. Finnair operates daily flights to Ivalo Airport, which is about 45-minute drive from the village of Inari. The drive to Utsjoki takes about two hours from Ivalo Airport.

Fill out the contact form, and we will get in touch with you to plan an unforgettable fly fishing trip for your group in the stunning northern wilderness according to your wishes. Juutua River in Inari is very popular, and only 10 permits per day are available. Therefore, the earlier you get in touch, the better your chances of getting permits for your desired time at Juutua River. It is highly recommended to make bookings for the summer before March 15th.

Of course. We would be happy to arrange a stopover program for you in Finland’s beautiful capital, Helsinki. The program can be included in your trip either before or after the camp. Just let us know your preferences.

What if your next great adventure takes you into Lapland’s untamed wilderness?

Now is the perfect moment to make it a reality.

I follow the white fly drifting with the current. Its speed increases until it dives into an eddy formed by a stone resting in the riverbed, only to rise sharply to the surface and continue its journey.
